TRL Systems Innovates with Addition of New Director of Clinical Services

TRL Systems was the only Fire and Life Safety company with in-house IT years before competitors caught on, and it became the industry standard. We’re doing it again. TRL Systems has hired Director of Clinical Services, Jessica Cheverie MSN, RN, to help clients maximize healthcare technology to improve the patient, family and staff experience.

According to Debbie Strunk, Healthcare account executive in TRL’s San Diego office, the benefits to the clients are exponential. “A lot of solutions we provide are technologies that tie to clients’ workflow,” she says. “Our Director of Clinical Services has the expertise to help them maximize their technology and design better solutions from a nursing perspective.”

Unique Experience and Skill Set

With more than 20 years as a nurse leader and many years working for her father, a builder and developer, Jessica is uniquely qualified for her new role. She holds a master’s degree in Nursing Informatics which allows her to work with healthcare facility leadership to analyze data and apply it to make substantive improvements to workflows.

From training and education to strategic design, implementation, gathering data, optimizing workflow, pre-sales demos and speaking with nurse leaders about emerging technologies, Jessica is becoming an integral partner to TRL clients and account executives.

“My construction and nursing careers have converged in a positive way to benefit our clients’ nursing leadership and TRL Healthcare teams,” she says. “I have a deep understanding of how technology can ease the challenges faced by healthcare workers and save our clients time and money by making them more efficient.”

Advances in Healthcare Technology

According to Jessica, new healthcare technology has a big impact on enhancing patient-centered care and safety and improving patient, family and staff satisfaction. One such innovation is replacing whiteboards in patient rooms with interactive boards, which provide a multitude of functions such as:

·       Immediate access to real-time interpreters for a variety of languages

·       Listing patient goals, medications, allergies and fall risks

·       Admission and patient education videos

·       Nurse call and assistance with creating tasks that can be delegated

“Healthcare has many challenges today, more than ever before,” says Jessica. “It’s satisfying to collaborate with clients and our TRL team to help supply state-of-the-art modern healthcare technology. My job is to ensure clients are leveraging all of the benefits that technology offers to help create safer and more productive healthcare workspaces.”
